Let’s talk about the magazine

“When is the next issue out?” is the most asked question we get here at Yatta.

A little over a month ago we did our initial reveal of Yatta Media, the new project from the Yatta team. With that we promised we would have news on the magazine following the weeks after that reveal. Today, we will address this question and more.

For those of you who remember, our last issue was released back in December 2011. If you haven’t read it already, you can find it online here.

What is happening with Yatta Magazine?

At this current moment, we are putting Yatta Magazine on a hiatus until further notice.

Do not fear however, this is not the end, we will return to the magazine in due time. However, at the current moment the team is hard at work planning for the release of Yatta Media [With some members getting ready for University]. With that in mind and our focus with online content, creating the magazine has been difficult. With many other reasons factoring into this decision as well, we felt it best to put the magazine to one side until a later date when we can focus full time on it.

So what is Yatta Media?

Yatta Media is going to be the new home for Yatta. It will be our new online blog working in a similar way to our current blog. However, Yatta Media will also have a lot of new exciting content and products for you too all enjoy. All online for easy access and sharing functionality.

The magazine, when it returns, will be published through Yatta Media.

Will the Magazine be online?

Yes. As you may not know, Yatta Magazine started as a youth project with funding to help print copies of the first two issues. After the funding ran out, we chose to move online to deliver content more frequently. Since doing so we have grown at a steady rate and being online has allowed us to vastly expand our audience. Therefore, most if not all of our work will be online from now on.

Will you print the magazine again?

If we are ever able to get to a point where we can get funding or self fund, along with the reassurance that our audience would be able to pick up a copy then yes. All of us on the team would really love to print copies again.

Is the Yatta Magazine blog staying?

No. When we release Yatta Media, along with the joining forum and other elements, we will be redirecting the Magazine blog to Yatta Media. It’s to take away any confusion with the name and product.

We are keeping the email though.

I want to help with the magazine, can I?

At the current moment we are not working on the magazine at all. However, we are always looking for help with Yatta and the possibility of setting up a small team to work on the magazine is not out of the question.

If you want to get involved with Yatta on any side, drop us an email at yattamagazine@googlemail.com

Do you have any plans for the magazine at the current moment?

All we know for sure at the moment is that we don’t want to make any promises that we can’t keep. Our goal is to try and put out the best content we can which our readers will enjoy. With the magazine, we are aiming to ensure that when work starts again it’s of the highest standard. As I said, we don’t want to make any promises but what I can say is this.

When Yatta Magazine returns it’s going to be bigger, better and more dynamic than ever before and we hope you look forward to it.

That’s all the news for today. We understand it’s not the best news in the world but we hope that you, our fans and readers, understand our decision. It’s not been an easy one, but it’s for now at least, the right one.

From here on out, look forward to more news on Yatta Media and our other online products in the coming weeks. As always we here at Yatta would like to thank you all for your continued support and we can’t wait to show you what we are working on.

Thank you for your time, understanding and support.

All the best from the Yatta team.
