Pokemon Tournament Details For March 12th Event!

We are still working hard on getting the event all sorted out and ready for you all to enjoy. Today we have the news that many of you have waited long to hear, the details of our Pokemon tournament! Make sure to check out our Facebook page here and the event page here for more updates on the event. For now, enjoy the rules and get ready to battle!

Pokemon tournament rules

Unfortunately if you don’t have HeartGold or SoulSilver you will be unable to enter.
We will be using HeartGold and SoulSilver’s flat battle feature reducing both players Pokemon to level 50 making the appropriate changes in stats. Note this does not increase the level of your Pokemon so anything below level 50 will stay at its level. We are doing this to save everyone from having to have a team of level 100 Pokemon.

A form will be available shortly which needs to be filled out before entering the tournament which will ask you to fill out the Pokemon you are using their levels, movepool, nickname and held item. It is compulsory that you complete this form before the event as it gives me a chance to look over them and to get things going as quickly as possible on the night. There will be a few available of these forms available on the night but I can’t guarantee many so I suggest you complete it now! If you want to make any changes to your team after sending the form simply fill it out again with any changes you want to make.

Rules

Your team may not contain any of the following Pokemon:
Arceus
Deoxys
Deoxys-A
Deoxys-D
Mewtwo
Mew
Wobbuffet
Lugia
Hooh
Latias
Latios
Kyogre
Groudon
Rayquaza
Giratina
Palkia
Dialga
Manaphy
Darkrai

All match’s will be double battles.

Players teams may not include two Pokemon with the same National Pokedex number.

Each Pokemon on the player’s team may use held items, though two Pokemon may not hold the same item during battle. Allowed items include held items from Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver versions as well as held items from earlier video games, including Berries 1–64. The Soul Dew item may not be used.

If a player uses the moves Explosion or SelfDestruct to force a tie, the user of that move is declared as the loser.

If a player’s final Pokémon uses the moves Perish Song or Destiny Bond, the move will fail.

Players may not enter two or more Pokémon with the same nickname.

Players may not enter a Pokémon nicknamed with the name of another Pokémon character (for example, a Lucario nicknamed “Spiritomb”).

Time limit

If the time limit expires, the game will decide the winner of the battle depending on number of remaining Pokémon (or remaining HP if there is a tie). If a player is stalling until time runs out then they will be disqualified.

Move Restrictions

Pokémon may only use moves (including those learned in an earlier video game) that have been learned through one of the following methods:
By levelling up.
By TM or HM.
As an Egg move, through breeding.
From a Move Tutor.
Already learned by a Pokémon that was received at an official Pokémon event or promotion.
Already learned by a Pokémon that was received from another Pokémon game (such as the Pikachu that knows Surf from Pokémon Battle Revolution).
By Smeargle’s “Sketch” move (limited to the above moves learned by Pokémon from 001 to 493).
